Quote of the day:

"Each photograph is a story captured in a single moment"

Author: M.Lopez

Photography is capturing the extraordinary meaning in each ordinary moment, and weaving these strands together to tell a story – your story - to hold, to share, to remember.

Water {52 week challenge- week 6}

Between the innocence of babyhood and the dignity of manhood,
we find a delightful creature of a boy.

Boys come in assorted sizes, weights and colors.
But all boys have the same creed: to enjoy every second of
every minute of every day and to protest with noise
(their only weapon) when their last minute is finished and
the adult males pack them off to bed at night!

Boys are found everywhere: on top of, underneath, inside of,
climbing on, swinging from, running around, or jumping to.
Mothers love them, little girls hate them, older sisters
and brothers tolerate them and adults ignore them. A boy is
truth with dirt on its face, beauty with a cut on its finger,
wisdom with bubble gum in its hair, and the hope of the
future with a frog in its pocket. When you are busy, a boy
is an inconsiderate, bothersome, intruding jungle of noise.

When you want him to make an impression, his brain turns
into jelly or else he becomes a jungle creature, bound on
destroying the world, and himself with it. A boy is a
composite. He has the appetite of a horse, the digestion
of a sword-swallower, the imagination of Paul Bunyan, the
energy of a pocket-size atomic bomb, the curiosity of a
cat, the shyness of a violet, the audacity of a steel trap,
the enthusiasm of a fire cracker, and when he make something,
he has five thumbs on each hand. He likes ice cream,
movies, Christmas, comic books, the boy across the street,
woods, WATER in its natural habitat, large animals, trains,
Saturday mornings, and fire engines. He is not much for
composing, music lessons, neckties, barbers,
girls, overcoats, adults or bedtime.

Nobody else is so early to rise or so late to supper.
Nobody else gets so much fun out of trees, dogs, and
breezes. Nobody else can cram into one pocket a rusty
knife, a half-eaten apple, 3 feet of string, 2 gumdrops, a
five-cent slingshot, a chunk of unknown substance, and one
supersonic code ring with a secret compartment. A boy is
a magical creature - you can lock him out of your workshop,
but you can't lock him out of your heart! You can get him
out of your study, but you can't lock him out of your mind!
Might as well give up! He is your captor, your jailer,
your boss, and your master. But when your dreams tumble
down and the world is a mess, he can put together the broken
pieces in just a twinkle with a few magic words...I LOVE YOU!

...her....

I love her.. everything about her.

I love the way she smiles when I go in to get her from her crib every morning.

I love the way she has to touch the banister when we are going down the stairs.

I love that I can ask her where is baby Addi? and she will go and point to the large picture of her hanging in the hall. And gently say "ayeyaye"

I love the way she will go up to the TV and dance and turn around to see if I'm watching.. and make the sweetest grin for me.

I love how she twists her right food in a circle over and over again.

I love how when she hears something she'll whisper "whasat"

I love that she hands out cuddle moments sparingly...that when I receive one.. it makes my heart soar.

I love how she'll reach for the keys hanging on the rack.. on our way out the door.

I love how she makes me feel... as if I'm the most important person in the world.

I love her red curly hair.

I love her one crooked toe... that shes had from birth.

I love her hands...

I love her little chicklet teeth.

I

Just

Love

Her..

Everything...

About..

It happens in a blink...

Teach me to number my days
And count every moment before it slips away
Taking all the colors before they fade to gray
I don't want to miss even just a second more of this

It happens in a blink
It happens in a flash
It happens in the time it takes to look back
I try to hold on tight, but there's no stopping time
What is it I've done with my life
It happens in a blink

When it's all said and done
No one remembers how far we have run
The only thing that matters is how we have loved
I don't want to miss even just a second more of this

It happens in a blink
it happens in a flash
it happens in the time it takes to look back
I try to hold on tight but there's no stopping time
What is it I've done with my life
It happens in a blink

Slow down, slow down
Before today becomes our yesterday
Slow down, slow down
Before you turn around and it's too late

It happens in a blink
it happens in a flash
it happens in the time it takes to look back
I try to hold on tight but there's no stopping time
What is it I've done with my life
It happens in a blink

Those are lyrics to a new song that is coming on the radio station I listen to.. and I love love love it. Its so true.. life is passing by so quickly. I know I've said it before.. but seriously it feels just like yesterday I had Kailey-Trey & Addi. I blinked and now they are 10-6 and 1. Where does time go? Why wont it slow down? I just love them- every second of them. I dont want to let it pass without savoring every moment... treasuring every second of... them.

This is the same car Trey used to ride in, and we introduced it to Addison. We saved it all this time... I guess I just couldnt part with it b/c of his attachment to it as a baby. Seems like only yesterday I took Trey outside to play in his little car... and now its Addi's turn. :)

Laughter is...

"Laughter is the music of the heart"

I had a great time with this couple!! They are expecting their first little baby (a boy) in 3 weeks. (can you believe she is that far along?) I was very stressed over this session b/c the weekend they drove a few hours to get here for the session... it decided to rain. I was walking around all day.. praying that it would clear up before the session. It stopped literally 5 minutes before I walked out the door.... and was beautiful the rest of the evening. The muddy road to the field? now thats a different story :)

Can you tell how happy they are together? They giggled and laughed almost the entire session. We had a great time in that field!

Thanks Josh & Tasha for letting me capture one of the most amazing moments in your lives! There is nothing like the moment your child enters the world... the rush... the happiness... the joy. There is no other feeling like it. Your little boy is going to be so loved- I can tell. If you love as much as you laugh------ how blessed he is. :)

Sorry for the tons of images.. but seriously? Arent they the cutest? and is she not glowing? SUCH a beautiful pregnant gal.

...she is my joy

She is my joy and hearts delight.
{Robert Wever}

This has to be one of my favorite sessions to date! The house was beautiful.. with all its sweet charm. I seriously want to live there! It didn't take me long to see how loved "S" is.... that her parents world is wrapped up in her. Even Grammie & Pop stopped by...which made the session even more special! Little "S" is so very blessed with so many people around her who adore her. It was truly an easy session..... I didn't have to force interaction out.. it came naturally!

Thank you Sarah for the opportunity to capture your families love towards one another! I think every picture should tell a story- your story. May the moments I captured always make you smile..... and remind you of the love you carry for your little girl.... your joy..... your hearts delight.

Books {52 week challenge: week 3}

I have given a moose a muffin,
I’ve counted fuzzy sheep
I’ve been on many adventures
Because mommy read to me.

I’ve kissed the moon goodnight
thrown a pig a big party
Been a ballerina for a day
All because daddy read to me

I’ve sailed with the pirates
Across the deep blue sea
There are many adventures waiting
Because mommy and daddy read to me.
